It’s Spring! If you’re like us, when Spring finally comes you get the itch to bring your home and yard back to life. We want to build, paint, and brighten everything! My current project obsession is our new-to-us camp trailer. It’s getting a basic makeover-mostly fabric updates. (Why is camper upholstery so ugly sometimes?) Steffany has bigger projects going on like building a garage and adding a porch swing. Since we’re much quicker about posting to Instagram than to the blog, be sure to follow us there for project updates and behind the scenes goodness–(@melanie_finditmakeitloveit & @steffany_finditmakeitloveit)
It doesn’t have to be big projects to make a big difference though- today we’re talking about three easy and inexpensive Spring projects that can make any space more beautiful. We shared these last week on the local Fox 13 TV show ‘The Place.’ Check out the segment HERE.
The first project we talked about is this bright and beautiful flower monogram. You could even pull this off for a Mother’s Day gift still with a quick run to a craft store. This monogram makes a big statement on the wall or front door! Click HERE for the tutorial.
Next, painted terra cotta pots. One of our most popular posts for sure! These pots get re-pinned on Pinterest like crazy! But don’t worry–these are NOT destined to be a Pinterest fail. Ha ha! These painted pots are not only super inexpensive, but also super easy and quick to make.
Click HERE for the tutorial for these three.
HERE’S a couple other terra cotta pot ideas!
The last Spring project is a miniature garden or Fairy garden or Gnome garden–whichever suits you best!
All the craft stores have little sections of mini stuff. Mini fences, mini watering cans, mini chairs, the cutest mini stuff you’ve ever seen! This is a trend you could really go wild with….. or keep it simple. Choose a theme or don’t, DIY the whole thing or buy every piece, use real plants or fake ones, create one with your kids or create one just for you! So much room for creativity with this fun project.
My girls and I haven’t completed our fairy garden yet, it’s on my to do list……just not at the top of it ;). As you can see from the TV segment, we are going to use a little wood bird house to turn into a fairy house. I’m still gathering a few little items to make our fairy garden just right. We have a Pinterest board set up full of miniature garden ideas. Check it out HERE for lots of inspiration!
So what’s on your home improvement list for Spring? Hopefully you’ll find something here to inspire and help your projects along!
