Hi! Steffany and I are so excited you purchased the Monogram Door Hang kit! The craft kit is the next best thing to actually coming to our class ;). We LOVE teaching these craft classes and putting together the craft kits with simple step by step instructions. To keep up with our upcoming classes and kits be sure to follow us on Facebook HERE and on Instagram HERE, and HERE. We always post the upcoming classes to our followers first. 🙂
We sure hope you have fun crafting up this cute door hang- it’s a simple project that will make your front door look amazing and it’s just perfect for transitioning into Fall.
With the kit, you have everything you need to complete your door hang except a sanding block or some light sand paper.
Let’s get started with the tutorial!
The get stain provided in your kit dries pretty quickly. Once it feels dry to the touch you can place your arrows. Set your letter (don’t glue it yet) on the pennant before placing the arrows so they’ll look good with your specific monogram. We just eyeballed the placement of our arrows–some are facing in, some are facing out. You can place them however you want! Feel free to use a ruler or some kind of straight edge to get them straight.
Now set the letter aside and paint over the whole pennant with white paint. Be sure to dab around the vinyl being careful not to push paint into the arrows. If you dab carefully around the vinyl for the first coat of paint, you can paint more freely for the second coat. The paint creates kind of a seal around the vinyl after the first coat dries. We did two light coats of white. (This picture is after one coat.)
Now for the ribbon! Take one end of the ribbon and tie a bow, then cut the long end off. The remaining ribbon is what you’ll use to hang the pennant. Set the bow aside and push the ends of the remaining ribbon through the two holes at the top of the door hang. Tie a knot at the front on both sides. Now hot glue the bow over the knot on one side.
It’s ready to hang!
This door hang looks great on a front door of course, but it’s also really cute on a wall or hanging from a wreath stand! Thank you so much for purchasing a kit and crafting with us!
