Blown Paint Monsters

September 3, 2013 By: Melanie

We’re so excited to be on Fresh Living again today!  We’re showing some fun rainy day activities to do with the kids:  these cute blown paint monsters,
and Magic Art for kids
You can see the post for the Magic Art here.
Now, how to make some blown paint monsters of your own!
Squirt some regular acrylic paint into a small cup.
Add just a bit of water to thin out the paint a little. Stir.
Pour a small amount of  the paint onto a piece of card stock.
Pour the colors right next to each other so they touch.  Then use a straw to blow the paint into whatever shape you want!
Once the paint blob looks good to you, use the straw to pull some paint out to
make legs, arms, eyes, spikes, anything!

Last add some googly eyes, and let dry.
I was prepared to glue on all the googly eyes once the paint was dry, but so far they have stuck just fine from placing them on the wet paint.
Once the monsters are dry, you can always use markers to add to it!  We even stuck a  pipe cleaner on a couple to make a mouth.
Our kids loved this and have been asking when we’ll do it again!
 Maybe on a rainy day. : )
We’ll be sure to post the link to our Fresh Living segment so you can watch (just in case you forgot to set your DVR. : )
