Vintage Jewelry Storage & Organization

January 8, 2014 By: Melanie

I am so excited about this!
Every time I walk into my bedroom, I feel all genius and chic!
My jewelry looks better on my wall than on me.  And that’s okay, I’m more of a special occasion jewelry wearer kind of gal.  So really, this rake and crate is like my favorite reason for owning jewelry! : )
Vintage storage crate for $8!
Thrift Store rake for $6!
Cheapest, cutest jewelry “box” I have ever had. : )
All I did is wipe the rake down and unscrew the handle.
It is hung by two screws.
There is a small space between the wire caging and the bottom (back) of the crate, so these S hooks hang easily and are perfect for bracelets.  Earrings easily hang too.
(The S hooks are from IKEA.)
For rings and non-dangle earrings I use small jewelry gift boxes.
The crate, all aged and awesome.
What do you think?  Do you like the pearls with rust kind of look?  I might keep my eyes open for another crate and rake for my older girls bedroom too. : )
See my Board and Batten tutorial and bedroom makeover in THIS post.

Hi Janet! So glad you like our LOVE Slat sign! We just used a more textured, multi-colored yarn, I can’t say I know what type of yarn it is, I’ve just had it for a long time. I’m sure I just got it at Hobby Lobby though. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for commenting-have a great day!
    Best wishes!

Absolutely love your LOVE slat board sign. Can hardly wait to make one, but I’m wondering what type of yarn you used. Seems like it has some dimension to it that really gives the heart a full texture look. Thanks so much and wish me luck.

Such fabulous ideas! I love the rustic industrial vibe the crate and wire gives.
