DIY backdrop + New February Profile pics

February 5, 2014 By: Melanie

We have started changing up our profile pictures with each new month.  Have you noticed?  We’ll get to changing it out on the blog too, but as it’s been, we change it on our Facebook and Instagram profiles.   Our plan is just to keep things fresh and real and fun!  If you follow us on Facebook and Instagram you have seen our February pics already.  If you don’t follow us, you totally should.: )

We thought we’d share our cheap and easy backdrop from our photo shoot:

It’s made from wrapping paper and cardboard!  Me and cardboard are BFF’s lately.  I can’t get enough of the magical free stuff!  See HERE, and HERE.
This is a wrapping paper I found around Christmas and couldn’t live without it.

I just cut and taped it to a big piece of cardboard.  This cardboard was actually not free, I bought it at Hobby Lobby.  It’s one of those tri-fold science fair boards.  I have been using it for a long time actually.  The other side is covered with this wood looking butcher paper.  See THIS post.

I use this as a backdrop all the time!  See more HERE, and HERE.  Here it is from a little photo shoot I did with my daughter.  I also did a bead board photo backdrop, see it HERE.

Back to our Valentine backdrop!  We stuck a push pin in the top to hang the chalkboard sign,  added a cute heart chain, a couple props and snapped away!

This makes such a cute little backdrop for some sweet kids pictures for Valentine’s Day.  We didn’t even doll the kids up, but I think we’ll do another photo shoot with the kids done up.
It’s so much fun!

We’ll be keeping our eyes open for awesome wrapping paper, butcher paper, or fabric to use as backdrops!  I’m a wannabe photographer and a cheap DIYer, so this is totally up my ally. : )

Hi Carrie! Here’s a little tutorial for the heart chain. It’s super easy!
