Have you heard about the Bring Your Own Friend event happening at IKEA?! It’s basically a huge sale and coupon day full of fabulous workshops (including a workshop by yours truly;) and fun stuff happening all around the store.
We’ll be there teaching a workshop for a Perpetual Birthday Calendar (check it out HERE,) and what we’ve done with these adorable candle dishes from IKEA. We’d love to see you there! (More info at the bottom of this post. 🙂
We came up with three different ways to use these beautiful little guys.
First, a picture frame.
We used the 7″ Skurar candle dish. (See HERE.)
Next, spray paint the dish any color you want! What a great way to add pops of color to a room! We had a dozen colors we wanted to try. : )
Trace and cut a 5 x 7 picture using the circle template you created earlier.
To attach the picture we used spray glue – and it worked perfectly.
Spray it onto the back of the picture and just drop it into the candle dish.
Press for a few seconds and let dry.
Now it can be hung on the wall by stringing some ribbon through the lacy edges.
(This is the display we’ll be using at IKEA.)
We left this one unpainted and just put it in a little stand. Lovely!
Next use:
Vinyl Plaque
This is the 15″ Skurar candle dish from IKEA. (See HERE.)
We thought this was such a fun way to display a favorite quote or name.
Add some vinyl and a little banner–cute!
Last re purpose:
A Chalkboard!
Perfect for a quote, a menu plan, a to do list, anything!
Again, we used the 15″ candle dish.
With a foam brush, paint 3-4 coats of chalkboard paint on the inside.
Let it cure for at least 24 hours, and chalk it up!
Want to see it all in action?! Come see us at the Draper IKEA tomorrow at 2:30! You can say hi PLUS we’ll be giving some IKEA goods away – must be present to win. : )
It’s going to be a blast! You can RSVP with IKEA to receive some great coupons to use at the event too! Click HERE to RSVP.
Hope to see you there!!
