Easter is less than 2 weeks away! We’re finally getting some gorgeous weather and Steff and I have been busting out brushes and spray paint like crazy! (Follow us on Instagram for more behind the scenes and sneak peeks of projects we’re working on!) Today we are excited to share some Easter egg discoveries. First, Walmart carries these fake easter eggs that look real. One dozen for $1.67-that’s less than a real dozen eggs, and they won’t get stinky or break. Plus they can be re-used next Easter!
We tried lots of different techniques for eggs. We wanted something a little more neutral, so we went with metallic, gold, and good old black and white:
First: Dollar Store gold leafing & glitter:
Aren’t they pretty! Guess what we used?………Tissue paper and Mod Podge, and gold glitter of course. Just tear small pieces of tissue paper and Mod Podge it onto the egg. So easy, and they really turned out beautiful!
These were the easiest! We just used fun stickers, washi tape, and ribbon. We also spray painted a few eggs black.
Last fancy looking eggs are metallic painted with stickers:We found the best way to paint the eggs is with a foam stenciling brush, it doesn’t show brush strokes. Also, cut a toilet paper tube into strips for the eggs to sit on while they dry, then just flip them over to paint the other half.
What do you think? Would you display these in your home for Spring?
