Happy Tuesday! I’ll never get over how fast time seems to go. Summer is really winding down, we’ve been playing a lot and Steff and I have managed to do quite a few furniture makeovers. We love it! Have you noticed our new Furniture Gallery tab at the top of the page? We have about a dozen pieces to add still, but we are excited to have it up. Now our furniture transformations are all in one place and easy to find. Be sure to check it out:)!
Now on to Transformation Tuesday…… we do a fair amount of browsing through thrift stores; usually we’re looking for furniture we can rescue and make beautiful again, but every now and then we find an obscure item we can’t pass up. This ceramic pheasant was one of those, we just couldn’t leave it there buried among all the other obscure items (junk.) Seriously, look at this thing – it’s pretty ugly. Those eyes? Just weird. Honestly, it looks better in this picture than in real life. We couldn’t wait to get some white spray paint on this guy!
After just a couple coats, the creepy eyed pheasant turned into a beautiful accent piece. It’s unique and definitely doesn’t look like it came from the thrift store.
Hooray for junk! I love finding weird stuff and making it look like something new again. Next time you’re passing through the thrift store or a yard sale don’t pass up funky pieces- give them a good coat of spray paint. 🙂
Have a great day!
