Hi! We sure hope you all had a great weekend and a fabulous Mother’s Day! Today we are so happy to be over at The Wood Connection to share our latest DIY project- this darling DIY clock made out of a Wood Connection picture frame! A DIY clock means it can be any color with any pattern to match any room! That’s one of the best reasons to be a crafter right? We can get exactly what we want!
Here’s what you need to make a clock of your own: (most supplies from The Wood Connection)
- Large round picture frame
- 12 x 12 scrapbook paper
- Clock movement kit (from any craft store for under $10)
- Number stickers
First, take the glass out of the frame. Set aside the cardboard backing.
Paint the frame whatever color you want. We painted ours white.
Now grab the cardboard backing that came with the frame and find the center. (Make an X going corner to corner to find the center.) Use a pen to push a hole through the very center. This is what you’ll mount the clock mechanism to. Since the clock mechanism is pretty light, the cardboard backing is sturdy enough to hold it.
Do the same with the scrapbook paper, then push the clock mechanism through the cardboard and the paper. Use an Exact O knife to cut the paper hole to fit perfectly around the clock piece and some double sided tape to attach the paper to the cardboard.
A big thank you to the Wood Connection for having us today! We are thrilled to have a $25 gift certificate to the Wood Connection to give away to one of YOU! Yahoo! To enter, all you need to do is follow us on Instagram and tag a friend! We’ll announce a winner on Friday! Good luck!
You can tag a friend every day for more entries. Good Luck!
