Last week, we popped into The Ribbon Retreat to share a simple project using some of their super cute ribbon. A DIY lip balm holder perfect for clipping to backpacks, purses or on a key chain. Around here, we have a small obsession with lip balm. I never leave the house without it, and if I do there’s a slight feeling of panic-haha! This clip is a perfect way to add lip balm to every bag I have! May I never leave home without it again. 😉 The Ribbon Retreat has a huge selection of ribbon, which makes perfect sense considering their name-ha! But seriously, you will love browsing around their site. 🙂
Here’s what you need from The Ribbon Retreat:
- 1 1/2 inch ribbon
- Swivel clip
A few other supplies you’ll need:
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Lighter
- Sewing machine
Measure and cut about 9 inches of ribbon.
Use a lighter to seal the ends of the ribbon to prevent fraying.
Now put the ribbon through the swivel clip and fold over about 1/4 of the ribbon length.
Then fold up the bottom, using the lip balm as a guide.
Pin in place.
Sew up both sides, leaving the clip in place.
That’s it!
My girls have unfortunately followed in my lip balm addiction footsteps and they are pretty excited about clipping this to their backpacks.
Sew up a couple of these in no time and save your lips from ever being chapped again!
