Hi friends! Steffany and I are so glad to be over at The Wood Connection today sharing this easy project. Halloween is just around the corner and we can’t wait! We’ve already started on some awesome Halloween projects and we are more than happy to share this cute Halloween box sign with you today. This is a pretty quick afternoon craft and no special tools are necessary! You can pick up just about everything for this box sign at The Wood Connection.
Here’s what you need:
- 12 by 12 Box Sign
- 5 by 7 frame overlay
- Number vinyl
- Wood glue
- Black, white, gold paint
- Painters tape
- Reinforcement circle stickers
Start by painting the box frame and the frame overlay white.
Next, measure and tape off some stripes. We measured just under 1 3/4 in. per stripe to get 7 stripes, very technical we know. Whatever size stripes you want, just make sure you end up with an odd number so you’ll end with black (or white) on both sides. It just looks better when it’s symmetrical. 🙂 Also tape off the inside of the frame so it stays white.
Now paint the black stripes. We did two coats.
Once the paint is dry, peel off the tape to reveal beautiful black and white stripes!
To get the gold polka dots on the white frame overlay, we used little reinforcement stickers we picked up at the Dollar Store. Tricky right?! 🙂 Load up the frame with polka dots.
Use a small paintbrush to fill in just the center of each sticker.
Let dry and peel each circle away! Cheapest stencil out there.
Sand all the edges of the frame then use wood glue to attach it to the box frame.
Place something heavy on top while it dries.
Last, place the vinyl numbers in the frame and it’s done!
We carried the stripes over the top too.
We LOVE how this turned out! We are so excited to add this adorable sign to our Halloween decor!
