We’re so happy you got yourself this Halloween Potion Bottles kit! We always have such a hard time picking from all the adorable Halloween projects the Wood Connection has. We sure love how this one turned out though! There’s a few steps to this one, so as always, we have a complete tutorial for you!
Here’s what’s in your kit:
- 3 potion bottles
- 1 block
- black and purple paint
- wood glue
You will also need:
How to make it:
Start by painting the medium and large potion bottles black. You will need to paint the backs, sides and just a sliver around the edges of the fronts since the front will be covered with paper. Also paint all the small overlay pieces, even the ones from the small potion bottle.
It’s always easiest to start by painting the sides so you can rotate the wood around as you paint and then lay it flat to paint the front/back.
Now for purple. Paint the small potion bottle and the block purple. The potion bottle will be the same as the other two, paint the back, sides and a sliver of the front. Paint the entire block, except maybe the bottom-that’s up to you :).
Tracing the paper:
Now that the bottles are assembled and the block is painted, the last step is to add the vinyl. Peel away the white backing, lay the sticky piece onto the block, press the letters down using a vinyl presser or a credit card, and peel away the clear sticky sheet leaving the words on the block.
All done and ready to start spooking up your house for Halloween!
