It’s back to school time already! We have a soft spot for back to school themed crafts and this stacked book craft is just perfect. We’re so excited you got this kit!
What’s in your kit:
- 3 wood blocks
- 1 wood apple
- Paint (yellow, green, blue, and red)
- Red paper
- Tan paper strips
- Brushes
- Wood glue
You will also need:
- A pencil
- Scissors
- Masking tape
Start by tracing the apple onto the red paper, cut out, and set it aside. Next, paint the apple. The front will be covered with paper so no need to paint the entire front. Once the red paint is dry, use some masking tape to get clean lines where the green meets the red.
While the apple dries, paint all the blocks. We painted the largest block blue. You will paint the entire block-sides, top, and bottom. Once all the paint is dry, it’s time for paper.
Place the paper on the apple and use a pencil to sketch where the stem and leaf will show.
Cut and glue the paper onto the apple.
The tan strips of paper will be the book pages. Start one strip near the edge of a book and fold it around the corners. Glue in place.
Cut a small piece to add to the end.
This way the seams will be on the side of the books rather than the front.
Stack the books how you would like and tie the jute around the stack.
Last, set the the apple on top and it’s ready for the shelf!
So CUTE!!
